Knee Surgery - Ouch!
On Wednesday morning I was fortunate enough to be whisked into Victoria General Hospital to receive surgery to repair a medial meniscus tear! Ouch! I hurt my knee last summer (playing Drag Baseball at Pride!) and have been performing with limited abilities since and waiting for surgery!
I still hadn’t received a place on the waitlist, but my surgeon phoned me on Tuesday night to say he had a cancellation in is schedule and he could do it the following morning.
Following a flurry of activity to cover my spot in our show this Saturday for the Pacific Cup Hockey Tournament - boy do I love my Cheesecakes for being able to jump into action to solve problems! I was on my way into surgery the next day!
Now I am at home, a bit sore and swollen, but generally doing well! I’ve been icing and elevating, taking some painkillers and yesterday, I started physio. So far it is mending well and I hope to be back in the saddle soon! Hopefully to my Heart of Glass act for the Bump & Grind Valentine’s shows in Victoria and Campbell River!
